EA – Environment Agency / CaRT – Canal and River Trust / PLA – Port of London Authority

When calling Limehouse (or any other marina) on Channel 80, please ensure that your radio is switched to International Channel 80, not American (US) Channel 80A. Otherwise, the marina will be able to hear you but you will not be able to hear the marina. Also please note that marinas do not use channel 14 or channel 16.

We’re going down the Thames tomorrow from Kew to Greenwich in a yole double scull. Just letting you know, can’t get through to VTS or PLA

Please keep trying phone and VHF. Do talk to them before setting off. 0203 2607711 or VHF Channel 14

I would always advise talking to them before you move. The PLA’s rules say:

      • All small boats boats are advised to inform London VTS before
      navigating below Wandsworth Bridge.
      • All small boats boats must inform London VTS before
navigating between Chelsea Bridge and Cherry Garden Pier
      (Central London).

Just to add (from a different moderator!) that the phone number is correct. I used it in July. I will delete this exchange in a week or two….
